TJLSolicitors

TJL Solicitors is a successful, leading North West based law firm which specialises in accident, personal injury and cosmetic surgery negligence cases.

The Business Challenge

As TJL’s business grew rapidly, more IT infrastructure was needed. This led to a lot of management time supporting and fixing IT issues. The decision was taken to invest in external IT support through a well established provider. TJL Solicitors had previous experience in outsourcing their IT support; however this was limited to trouble-shooting and fixing problems. A key issue with this arrangement was that there was no clear IT roadmap to meet the firm’s business challenges thereby resulting in large amounts of down-time and therefore unnecessary expense with potential affects on service-levels to their client base.

As TJL continued to develop, the pressure for more productive and cost effective case management processes grew. TJL realised their existing IT infrastructure was not robust or flexible enough to cope with their business model. Therefore, TJL sought a professional IT Management company that was more than just a “fix and repair” type of supplier.

The Solution

After searching the market, CARA were recommended to TJL, and immediately accepted by TJL’s management. Not only did CARA want to know all about TJL’s business challenges before they started discussing IT, but they also resolved a serious virus problem before the contract was even signed.

In fact, TJL were so suitably impressed by the way CARA resolved the virus issue and the perception shown in understanding the TJL business that this led the company immediately accepting a proposal from CARA to implement an IT solution that suited the current and future needs of the business.

CARA proposed a combination of existing assets, upgraded where necessary, and more appropriate replacements. This gave TJL greater business flexibility, a well planned upgrade strategy and options on recycling current assets.

The Results

Cara turned TJL’s IT experience from one of time consuming fault chasing to one where IT has become a background activity with very little disruption to their business

At the point when TJL needed a major upgrade, it was well thought out, with clear roles and appropriate contingency. The upgrade happened over the weekend and work resumed on Monday morning, much to the pleasantly surprised TJL team, who were expecting a week of teething troubles!
